Anatomy Trains
Structural Integration (ATSI)

A 12 session series that works the whole body, not just where it hurts. Designed to release chronic tension patterns, improve posture, and restore ease of movement from the ground up.

What is Anatomy Trains Structural Integration?

Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) is a comprehensive, hands-on approach to structural bodywork developed from the work of Tom Myers, author of Anatomy Trains. Rather than treating the body as a collection of separate parts, ATSI works with the fascial network: the continuous web of connective tissue that links every muscle, bone, and organ from head to toe.

Each session combines hands-on manual therapy with movement and postural assessment. We look at how you stand, how you move, and where your body has learned to compensate, then work systematically to address what's underneath, not just what's visible on the surface.

The goal isn't to impose an ideal posture onto you. The alignment we're working toward already exists in your body. It simply needs the layers of accumulated tension and compensation cleared away so it can express itself. Most clients are surprised to find that ease, not effort, is what they've been missing.

Why 12 Sessions?

Most people come in with a specific complaint: a shoulder, a lower back, a neck that never fully unwinds. What they discover is that the complaint is rarely where the story starts. The body compensates quietly and continuously; by the time something hurts, a whole chain of adaptations has already been set in motion.

A single session can create meaningful change. But one session doesn't have the reach to address how those compensations are distributed across the whole structure. The 12 session series does. Each session builds on the last, working progressively from the surface inward, until the changes have enough depth and breadth to hold.

Most clients describe the results as cumulative in a way that feels different from other treatments. Not a fix that has to be maintained, but a shift in how the body carries itself.

Who Is the 12-Series For?

ATSI suits people who want to understand what's driving their discomfort, not just manage it. It works well for those who:

  • Have tried various treatments and keep returning to the same problem
  • Carry chronic tension in the neck, shoulders, or lower back that never fully clears
  • Feel like their body is working harder than it should just to get through the day
  • Are recovering from injury and want to address the broader structural picture
  • Spend long hours at a desk and feel the posture has shifted over the years
  • Want a clear, methodical process rather than symptomatic relief
  • Are postpartum and looking to restore structure and ease after pregnancy

What to Expect

Kiki Ruan working on a client's shoulder during a structural integration session

Each session runs approximately 75–90 minutes and includes both hands-on work and a postural or movement assessment. Most of the work is done in underwear or swimwear, so the body's structure and movement are visible throughout.

At the start and end of the series, photographs may be taken to track how the structure changes over time. This isn't about measuring you against an ideal; it's a reference point for both of us to see what has shifted.

How often?

Sessions are typically spaced one week apart: close enough to maintain momentum, far enough for the body to integrate what has changed. Your body needs time to process each session; too close together and it cannot settle, too far apart and the thread is harder to carry forward.

What I ask of you

Show up consistently and stay curious about how your body feels between sessions. You don't need to do anything specific, but noticing what changes, what eases, or what surfaces between appointments helps us work more precisely as the series progresses.
